You can connect a domain by changing its nameservers or by editing selected DNS records. Nameservers delegate the whole DNS zone; individual records keep DNS management with the current provider.
Before you begin
Sign in through the official client area and keep account-specific values from your activation email available. Make a backup before changing production data or configuration.
Steps
- Collect the correct values: Copy the nameservers or server IP from the hosting activation email. Do not use example values from a generic guide.
- Choose one DNS authority: Use either the hosting nameservers or the existing DNS provider as the source of truth. Avoid editing an inactive zone.
- Apply the change: At the registrar, replace nameservers; or at the active DNS provider, update the root A/AAAA record and the www record as instructed.
- Allow propagation: Lowering TTL before a planned move can help. Existing cached answers expire on their own schedule.
- Verify services: Check the root and www hostnames, SSL issuance, and email records before considering the move complete.
Important notes
- Changing nameservers can affect web, email, verification, and other DNS records.
- Copy all required records before moving DNS authority.
When to contact support
Contact support if the documented controls are unavailable, the service reports an account-level restriction, or the issue continues after these checks. Include the affected domain or service, the exact error, a timestamp with timezone, and the steps already tried. Never include passwords, one-time codes, private keys, or complete payment details.
